High School Teacher Programme

The International High School Teacher (HST) Programme 2019 will take place 7-20 July 2019!

This residential programme, which has been taking place every year since 1998 at CERN during the month of July, is open to high school science teachers from around the world who would like to update their knowledge of particle physics, learn more about educational resources available, and collaborate with fellow science teachers of different nationalities.

The HST programme contains lectures, on-site visits, hands-on workshops, discussions, and Q&A-sessions. Furthermore, during the 2 weeks, all teachers will collaborate in several working groups on various topics related to particle physics and its integration in the classroom. All working groups will deliver their final reports at the end of the programme. Therefore, all applicants should:

  • have a good working knowledge of the English language (the entire programme will be delivered in English)
  • be committed to attend in full the 2 weeks of the programme (no late arrivals, no early departures)

There is a dedicated programme website for the HST2019 programme (indico.cern.ch/e/HST2019), which will be updated closer to the start of the programme.

Please note:
The HST2019 application process will be open until Sunday, 13 January 2019!
