The International High School Teacher (HST) Programme 2017 will take place at CERN 2-22 July 2017!
This 3-week residential programme, which has been taking place every year since 1998 at CERN during the month of July, is open to high school science teachers from around the world who would like to update their knowledge of particle physics, learn more about educational resources available, and collaborate with fellow science teachers of different nationalities.
The HST programme contains lectures, on-site visits, hands-on workshops, discussions, and Q&A-sessions. Furthermore, during the 3 weeks, all teachers will collaborate in several working groups on various topics related to particle physics and its integration into the classroom. All working groups will deliver their final reports at the end of the programme. Therefore, all applicants should:
- have a good working knowledge of the English language (the entire programme will be delivered in English)
- be committed to attend in full the 3 weeks of the programme (no late arrivals, no early departures)
For detailed information about the International High School Teacher Programme 2017 and how to apply, please see the FAQ. Teachers interested in participating in HST2017 are invited to do so exclusively using the online form linked below. To access the application form, you must create a CERN lightweight account. The procedure for creating a CERN lightweight account is described in this document.
Please note: Applicants from the USA are asked to contact the US HST coordinator Ken Cecire who will inform you about the dedicated application process for teachers from the USA. Applicants from Canada are asked to consult the website of the Canadian Association of Physicists.
